Neurolingo Language Technology Applications

In a few days, the Language Tools (Modern Greek Spell checker and Modern Greek Thesaurus of synonyms and antonyms) by iSquare will be released on the market and integrated with the Apple computers. The language tools for Mac OS X (Cocoa applications) developed by iSquare are based on the corresponding language resources (dictionaries and engines) created by NEUROLINGO for spelling correction and proofing.

NEUROLINGO in collaboration with KONDYLI (http://www.kondyli.gr) provides their expertise and experience in a workshop specialised in electronic lexicography. The domain of electronic lexicography includes a series of activities related to designing, developing and managing various electronic language resources such as human-readable dictionaries, computational dictionaries for natural language processing systems, text collections (corpora), etc. The main purpose of this workshop is participants to learn how to use databases and computational tools for lexicographic applications.

The TT Hellenic Postbank has chosen the environment “Mnemosyne” developed by Neurolingo for using it in a new project aiming at the data cleansing of its products and accounts.

Lambrakis Press Group, the largest publishing and media house in Greece, has chosen linguistic and proofing tools developed by Neurolingo to be integrated in its new content management system “NEWS ASSET” (by ATC).

Neurolingo is one of the sponsors of the 12th Conference of the European Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics (EACL 2009).

NEUROLINGO is assigned to develop an advanced software system for event recognition and information extraction, on behalf of ICAP SA, the largest Business Information and Consulting firm in Greece.

By text processing the Government Gazette, this system will be able to extract a list of events referring to legal actions (e.g. Company formation or dissolution, Head Office Movement, Stock Exchange Listing etc.) by using Named Entities recognition and annotation and a pattern-based syntactico-semantic analysis.
